20/20 Pre-Empted for NBA Finals on June 5 2026

ABC’s 20/20 will not air on Friday, June 5, 2026, as the network’s primetime schedule is being pre-empted for coverage of the 2026 NBA Finals.
Instead, ABC will broadcast Game 2 of the NBA Finals featuring the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs from Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. The game is scheduled for Friday night and will occupy the network’s primetime lineup, replacing the usual 20/20 broadcast.
The Finals matchup comes after the Knicks and Spurs emerged as champions of the Eastern and Western Conferences, respectively. Game 2 is a critical early contest in the best-of-seven championship series before the teams head to New York for the next games.
As a result of the NBA Finals coverage, no new or rebroadcast edition of 20/20 is scheduled for June 5. ABC is expected to resume its regular Friday night newsmagazine programming once Finals coverage concludes later in June.
