ABC’s 20/20 will be pre-empted on Friday, July 3, 2026, as the network devotes its primetime schedule to Disney Celebrates America, part of ABC News’ 25-hour special event coverage marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Instead of its regular true crime programming, ABC will air Disney Celebrates America: America the Beautiful, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET (following the network’s earlier Independence Day coverage).
The special celebrates America’s semiquincentennial with patriotic performances, stories highlighting the nation’s history and culture, and coverage from across the country as part of ABC News’ extensive Fourth of July programming.
As a result, 20/20 will not air on July 3, 2026, with the newsmagazine resuming its regular Friday schedule the following week.
