Born on May 18, 1996, in Littleton, New Hampshire, Anna Moriah Wilson was raised in Kirby, Vermont, within a family deeply ingrained in sports culture. Her parents, Eric and Karen Wilson, nurtured her athletic interests from a young age. Transition to Gravel Cycling

The Fatal Incident
On May 11, 2022, the gravel racing community was shaken by the tragic news of Wilson’s death. Staying at a friend’s place in Austin, Texas, to compete in a race, Wilson’s life was brutally cut short. She was found with multiple gunshot wounds in what was later ruled a homicide.
The Austin Police Department’s investigation revealed a complex narrative involving Wilson, pro cyclist Colin Strickland, and Kaitlin Armstrong. Surveillance footage and ballistics linked the crime to Armstrong, whose tumultuous relationship with Strickland became a focal point of the case.
After the incident, Armstrong fled to Costa Rica, evading authorities for over a month. Her capture and subsequent trial were marked by intrigue and international attention.
The Trial and Conviction
Armstrong’s trial, after numerous delays, commenced on October 30, 2023. The proceedings unveiled a story of jealousy and rage, culminating in Armstrong’s conviction for first-degree murder. She was sentenced to 90 years in prison, with parole eligibility after 30 years.
Legacy of Moriah Wilson
Wilson’s untimely death left an indelible mark on the cycling community. Tributes poured in, remembering her not only as a talented athlete but also as a person of character and kindness.
The Moriah Wilson Foundation was established to honor her memory and support the values she embodied.
